Bush was quick to make the point in his farewell address, saying that Obama’s story — his black father was from Kenya, his white mother from Kansas — represents “the enduring promise of our land.” I am glad to see the optimism (and what an event).


I think that this new presedent elect is great for the counrty. The first african american president in us history. Another great african american hero was martin luther king, and he was just a civil rights leader. But now we are fortunate enough to have barack obama as our president. According to the article, about 200 years ago the white house and the U.S. capitol were both build by african slaves. And its true that we now all have a new sence of pride that every person in the nation should hold. Barack Obama is going to be a great president and will leave many satisfied
