Public safety enforcers are one of the state facilitated assemblies that rank very high on my “must keep list” of programs nit to penalized by cuts to the California State budget. When I first considered the essay prompt, education and money management were some of the first things I would have liked to keep from getting cut. However after pondering the different state provided activities, I began to see little by little the benefits peace officers had over all of the other programs.
To produce my conclusion that police and safety officers were the most beneficial state run program I sat down and mapped out the pros and cons of all the different state run programs. In the end I was drawn between public safety and education. What made me chose public safety over education was when I realized that I would rather have safe protected children then ones that are smart but never safe.
Education came in second. Math specifically is a field in education that I feel should be not only exempt from budget cuts but strengthen financially. Us Californians need to be able to count and budget our own money so we can save it for the long term. However because of lack of the proper math education thousands of Americans are making financially fatal mistakes like not adding up long term adjustable interest rates.
