Will Obama’s youth movement best Clinton’s mail-in-vote trove?
3 Comments Published by clay February 3rd, 2008 in State and Local Politics.I would be surprised to see Clinton lose states like California. It would be a major collapse if she did. Nevertheless, California is not a winner-take-all state, thus, if Obama makes it competitive he will receive enough delegates to stay competitive in state races after SuperTuesday.

Private nightly tracking polls taken by initiative campaigns on Tuesday’s ballot show a similar tightness.

Clinton’s people are betting on a big showing among absentee voters whom the campaign tried to energize right after her New Hampshire primary victory Jan. 8, when the

I would not be surprised at all to see Clinton lose states like California. But, then it would be much like New England losing The Super Bowl yesterday. Actually, it wasn’t exactly that way. The New York Giants WON The Super Bowl.
Obama, with that magnificent corps of young folk that he has galvanized around him, is gonna put a new face on political campaigning. His leadership abilities and his clear and unmistakable message for “change” resonates with them, and with a bunch of us older fellas.
This old Republican is crossing over to support and vote for Barack Obama, tomorrow, down here in Georgia. My wife and I will support him all the way. If he is not the nominee, then we’ll cross back over, to business/politics as usual. We cannot, in good conscience, vote for the brand of politics that Bill and Hillary maintained in The White House. We cannot bear the thought of a third term for them.
In California, and the other large states, Obama does not have to win. He just needs to chip into that monstrous lead that Hillary had virtually put into her pocket. He just has to get a fair proportion of the delegates. We can win it all in the Convention.

It was stated in our class that the voting percent of the youth is only about 20% maximum. Majority of teens do not even go to the polls to vote let alone look inot the philosophy of the candidates. Therefore obama’s desperate attempt to overtake hillary are utile. I admit it has been a tight race between obama and clinton but hillary has won the support of many hispanics and women.
Traditionally the thought of how parents support and view things transitions to their children. So when it comes to politics most children will have the same views as their parents or the people who surround them.
This election has been the most known election in history yet. Obama does not have to win many states, in the article it stated that hillary has some delagates “in her pocket”, which delegates are they? and what guaruantess her that these delegates will maintain supporting her.
What happened a couple years ago with the clinton fanily did embarass the U.S. but that did not have anything to do with actual politics. Those were personal problems that they did not deal with in the proper way therefore this should not affect her curent election.
Clintons mail in vote will definately help her in the poles. Many people dont actually vote because they may be too lazy to wait and vote. She saves them time and its more efficient to just sentd it through the mail.
I trutfully think yea Obama stands a hell of a good chance in beating Clinton. I mean as stated in the article looked it how much he pulled in the last six months and we still have about another what 4-5 months to go. I wouldn’t doubt that he can’t do it. Also as stated in class, she has been taking quotes of Obama’s and using them for herself. I see that as a follower no longer a leader in this type of situation. And yea teens make up a smaller % than other groups, but I believe that since we are such in a slump with our economy, more younger ppl will go out and vote. Iam just glad that is aware now that you need to check the box on top for your vote to count for future times. I really think they should allow there to be a re-vote because the number of votes not being accounted is ridiculous and can throw of who the ppl really want. It is just a matter of time we find out if Obama was able to pull it through or not!
