Honestly, Disney will be fine. Nothing is going to really happen to them.
However, the writers are the reason these movies are such a big hit. But the company itself has so much more in other businesses for making money; merchandise, the park, and their other movies.
I think they should work with the writers. Negotiation could be a good idea. Paying them more shouldn't be that big of a deal considering all the money they pull-in. Bootlegging and all that other stuff is always going to be an issue and I think it's going to be an ongoing issue.
I don't think Disney will ever leave L.A. :)

Hannah Montana's concert in 3-D seemed to revolutionized the way Disney is prepared to release movies. The 3-D movie did SO WELL that Disney has reported that all other movies will be featured and released in the third dimension. Was the film's popularity, though, due to the new movie technology or to the tween sensation's previous iconic stance on television? What will all their money from their films result in? Disney has yet, since MATTERHORN, been able to establish a new invention to the world. So, what are they planning for in the future? More theme parks, new ways to view tv and music, a MASSIVE TWEEN AND MOUSE TAKEOVER? I have to give it to Disney, though. Narnia: Prince Caspian does look pretty cool.

The writers want to get payed thats all. Cmon, if you where a writer im pretty sure you'd want a cut from everything thats produced dvd or digital. Of course there is always going to be bootlegging so Disney already has to compete with bootleggers so just pay the writers and get it over with. If Disney doesn't pay, it won't dislodge them from anything because they are firmly seated here. But a big company like Disney won't take a huge hit by paying the writer's more. For the sake of time just get it over with, pay them and all the problems go away. Disney's back in business and the writers should be content for a long time.

i think the writers had every right to strike. With the constantly rising rates of bootlegged films, one can imagine how much money they are loosing. As far as Disney is concerned, they should compromise with their writers. Its the only way to come to a solution were both parties are semi-pleased.
Disney is a huge industry and with shows as popular as Hannah Montana and High School Musical, i dont think that they ahve anything to worry about. Fans won't mind if an episode is aired just one more time. They arent just going to forget about a favorite show because its been a couple weeks without new episodes.
Even though most film industries are moving out of LA and into other areas or countries, i dont think Disney will.

I believe that Disney may make a small move away from films, but they won't take much of a hit from it. In order to analyze this article you must understand exactly how multi-faceted the Disney company has become. You'd be surprised at all the markets that Disney has a hand in. They affect nearly all of our large industries, including farming.
I don't think Disney will be going away, but they may start scraping or rushing some ideas.

The truth is that the writers protest has affected many of us. Although Disney being a big production company that has many films that they have in storage and are waiting to be released, they will eventually feel the pressure of the writers protest in its production sales. Disney has had much success in their films such as High school Musical and will continue to release movies that will be enjoyed through out the world. A compromise has to be done between writers and Disney. If they don’t want any future conflicts in their future they need to compromise where both Disney and the unemployed writers come to the middle so that neither Disney nor the writers have the upper hand. This will help Disney in the future because if Disney lets out movies most likely at the movies premiers writers will be attraction attention for example they might attend a movie premiere just to try to ruin it for Disney such as they did for the golden awards.

Disney should just wait until this writer's strike comes to a close because movies are a great part of their revenue, but that is certainly not the only way Disney makes their money. With a channel, radio station and DVD's that go away to the vault every couple months, Disney already has their audience in the bag and die hard HSMers and Hannah Montana-nites will wait for the movies to come out. I can see High School Music losing its popularity, but unless Hannah Montana gets a HUGE scandal (and I mean huge because scandals of yesterday are nothing today) she will still hold her fan base and they will still flock to see her movie in 2009, 2010, 2015 or whenever it comes out.

I am not opposed to the writers getting what they deserve, but this issue will resolve itself so there is no need for Disney to go out of their way to make it end faster. This is not the first writers' strike and it certainly won't be the last, so there is no need to panic. And with a company like Disney, I doubt if CEO Bob Iger will even lose a wink of sleep over this. If I was him I'd sleep like a baby because with or without the movies, its still a billion dollar business that will never stop growing.

Disney is one of the biggest industries and makes so much money a year. I believe that Disney should compromise with the writers. I don't see a reason why they shouldn't. With all the hit shows that Disney has, such as Hannah Montana, They would be stupid to take them away. I don't think the audience will be too sad to see their favorite episode being aired more than once. This article talked about how they might lose "tweens" because they're going to forget about the shows and move on to something else. I highly doubt this because if they've followed these shows for this long then I don't think they will stop now.

I think it's highly unlikely that Disney will be moving out of L.A. anytime soon. Disney is too big and L.A. would regret it finacially if they let Disney leave. They still have so many movies coming out. The profit that they lost during all of this will seem like it never happened when these movies come out. The day that Disney moves from L.A., is the day that pigs fly!

well disney needs to share the wealth with the writers. these writers are making disney money... mad bank. they need to come to some middle ground with these people to keep making money. they need to stop being selfish and let the writers get in on some of the cash. if they dont work something out they will be loosing much more money tan if they agreed with the writers.

Disney should really consider the whole compromising with the writers. I mean if it would get them more money then what's the lose? The writers are just realizing how important they are to Disney, and now want other needs. I know that if it were me whom were writing all these great stories for Disney and they weren't meeting my needs I would let them know exactly how I felt. If Disney doesn't come to an agreement then they can be sure that they'll loose a lot more money and fans than they will if they just compromise and keep their writers happy, it's as simple as that.
