At first, citizens were skeptical on how well a movie star would do as a government official. With Ronald Regan as an example, others were hopeful for success. In regard to the recent figures of Governor Schwarzenegger’s overwhelming defeat of Gov. Grey Davis’s campaign fundraising efforts, it continues along with his succesful carrer as gov.
There is also the argument that he has gone against his word by receving fundraising money from special intrest groups, when he said before his campiagn that he would finance his entire campaign. He has not, howvever, received campaign donations, only those to help his efforts on different issues that he is backing. During the recent fires that haev swept thoruigh southern California, Schwarzenegger has shown deep concern for affected families and has proven that he does not only talk about helping. Three times during the weekend when the fires started, Govenor Schwarzenegger visited San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium to see the devestation that had been caused.
Although he is not leagally allowed to stay in office much longer, Govenor Schwarzenegger has done a great job at provideing exactly what the state has needed, when it needs it.
